Welcome to my website! My name is Benjamin Attia. I'm a Principal Research Analyst in the Energy Transition practice at Wood Mackenzie, a global consultancy providing market research, analytics, and advisory services across the energy sector. I lead the firm's coverage of solar photovoltaic markets and power sector transitions in emerging markets, mostly in Africa and the Middle East. I research, write on, present, and engage with press on these topics. I collect that work on this site -- I hope you find something insightful while you're here.
I also conduct affiliated research with various partners and as a Non-Resident fellow at The Energy for Growth Hub, The Payne Institute for Public Policy, and the James E. Rogers Energy Access Project at Duke University. I was also a 2021 National Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute. I previously worked in solar asset management at SunEdison, on regulatory research for U.S. utilities at the National Regulatory Research Institute, and led market development and strategy at Mee Panyar. I hold a Masters of Energy & Environmental Policy from the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration at the University of Delaware. |
